We respond to valid notices promptly. Materially incomplete or bad-faith notices may be ignored and, where they appear to be knowingly false, may expose the sender to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

What to include in a takedown notice

To be actionable under DMCA § 512(c)(3) or UK CDPA, your notice must contain ALL of the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or, for multiple works, a representative list).
  • A specific URL on templateempire.io that identifies the allegedly infringing material.
  • Your contact information: full name, postal address, phone number, and email.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on behalf of the owner.

We may share your notice (including your contact details) with the person who posted the material in question so they can respond.

Counter-notification

If you received a takedown notice from us and believe the material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to support@templateempire.io containing the elements specified by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). We will forward the counter-notice to the original complainant and may reinstate the material 10–14 business days later unless the complainant files a court action.

Repeat infringers

We maintain a repeat-infringer policy: accounts and customer records associated with multiple substantiated infringement notices will be terminated, and any licences issued through that account may be revoked without refund.

Jurisdiction

Halbon Labs Ltd is a UK limited company. UK complainants will be handled primarily under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988; US complainants under DMCA Title II safe-harbour provisions. We recognise both regimes and treat substantively identical notices the same way regardless of which framework they are filed under.
